Seven Stars, Carey Street

The Seven Stars is a fabulous old Elizabethan pub, one of a few buildings which survived the Great Fire of London in 1666. It celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2002 with a street party. Tucked away behind the Royal Courts of Justice (High Court) this pub is frequented by lawyers and people from the surrounding courts, and enjoys a large and loyal following.

The walls are decorated with drawings of Judges and movie posters and the resident cat, Tom Paine, lives on the bar, often sporting a white ruff! Today,the landlady, Roxy Beaujolais, is passionate about the pub. She has recently carried out some sympathetic renovations and the menu serves fresh seasonal dishes. Offering an excellent selection of ale on tap, this is a quaint little pub, packed full of history.
